The Genealogy and Local History Collection of the Brighton Room has developed over time to become one of the largest collections of family and local history information in Livingston County.

A new service for kids and teens ages 9-18. Readers can sign up to receive a one-month subscription to our new Library Book Box service! Subscribers will enjoy two library books selected by our librarians to check out plus fun extras for you to keep. Sign up during the first week of the month to receive the next month’s box. Space is limited.

Book Box Registration will resume August 1st.

GENERAL

To make a room reservation online, you must create a LocalHop account. However,  Information Desk staff
can also reserve rooms over the phone or in-person.

The Brighton District Library provides free-of-charge delivery of books and other library materials to persons who are unable to come to the library themselves.

Library cardholders can borrow items to acquire new skills or explore areas of interest. Each Thing can be checked out for one week, with an option to renew for an additional week, if the item is not on hold for someone else.

We welcome the opportunity to educate young people about the library. Group tours and/or story times may be arranged with the designated staff.
